After spending the week travelling through Los Angeles, road tripping down to Phoenix Arizona and eating all of the vegan treats I could find my body was feeling a bit under the weather once I arrived home. To kick my cold I decided to whip up this extremely hydrating, immune boosting green smoothie to give my body what it needed most to heal. This one is super simple to make and features one of my favourite plant foods to instantly make you feel better....GINGER!
Ginger is not only great for reducing inflammation in the body, it also is one of the best plant foods you can eat to boost your immune system and help fight off and avoid any nasty cold or flu. It also is great for digestion which when you are sick is very important since most of your immune system is actually located in the gut.
Now that you know why you are eating it, let me show you how with this delicious green smoothie.
2 frozen ripe bananas
1 cup frozen pineapple
1 thumb size piece of fresh ginger
3 cups coconut water
1 cup water
2 cups fresh organic kale or spinach
1/2 tsp camu powder (optional but recomended since it's very high in Vitamin C)
1.Blend all ingredients in a high speed blended until smooth
2. Enjoy the green goodness
